Immigration Legal Assistant / Имиграционен юрисконсулт
As an Immigration Consultant, you will work as part of a team with extensive consulting and immigration experience, helping our clients solve their complex immigration cases from strategy to execution. Your role will be to build effective lines of engagement and communication between clients/service users and the team, providing interpretation/translation support and legal assistance where needed. You will be expected to build positive relationships with our clientbase, as well as demonstrate collaboration with our services and other partner organisations.
Innovation forms a critical part of the role and you will be asked to continually reassess how we deliver immigration services to ensure the best experience for our clients and colleagues. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Proactively assist in the management of a portfolio of clients

Undertake casework and case management for Bulgarian immigration applications

Provide bilingual communications support with accurate interpretation from Bulgarian to English and vice versa at meetings, conferences, appointments, and other business activities

Translate legal documents from English to Bulgarian, such as case summaries, certificates, criminal background checks, etc.

Escort clients and/or submit documents to the Migration Directorate or to the department/sector/group \"Migration\" at the regional directorates or to any other relevant government institutions. Support and assist clients filling in application packs.
- Supporting and assisting clients at notary offices with authentication and certification of signatures and documents for use in Bulgaria from foreign countries, notarising power of attorney and other relevant documents, etc.

Keep up to date with Bulgarian immigration legislation

Work closely with the team to curate news and blog style content around Bulgarian visas, residence permits and citizenship.
Applicants must have a self-starter attitude and possess the following requirements:

Relevant experience in writing and editing in English and Bulgarian

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written skills).

Team player with a professional and positive attitude.

Familiar with Google Docs
The role does not require any legal education or any prior legal experience. It is not expected for candidates to have all the necessary skills before assuming the role and this is why the role is open to candidates who want to develop necessary skills on the job. Full training and induction will be provided upon commencement of the role, and you will have access to regular support and additional training.
This is a full-time (40 hours per week) Sofia based role. We are looking for someone who can both work remotely from home and at relevant government institutions and agencies as needed. The job requires commute to towns across Western Bulgaria for client specific runs when a trip to department \"Migration\" at the regional directorates is necessary (driving licence is not particularly relevant to the vacancy).
