Overhead Lines Worker HV and LV/MV
Needs to Have:
- Experience in Utility Approved Qualified Overhead Lines Worker for 10kv/20kv/LV networks
- Experience in Utility Approved Overhead lines worker for all HV networks systems.
- Good knowledge of English, both written and spoken
- Drivers License is an advantage
Needs to Do:
- Install, maintain, repair and refurbish high voltage overhead electrical lines and systems.
- A Lines worker works on both transmission and distribution lines that originate from a power plant and extend to individual buildings or homes.
- Ability to climb and work at height (up to 50m) on poles and towers in a safe and professional manner, utilizing Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWP's) when required.
- Operate the network to facilitate outages associated with emergency repairs and maintenance of the network.
- Carry out emergency repairs to electrical lines in emergency situations such as lightning, wind, ice storm, or ground disruptions.
- Utilize live working procedures to undertake maintenance and repairs of the network where outages cannot be granted.
- Carry out all works in compliance with relevant Health and Safety legislation, standards, and procedures.
