Technical Product Analyst
Overview
The Technical Product Analyst plays a critical role in the development, optimization, and lifecycle management of advanced opto-electronic systems used in weapon platforms. These systems integrate optics, electronics, and digital technologies to enhance performance in military, law enforcement, hunting, and tactical applications. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, a passion for firearms and weapon systems, and experience working with defense-related and/or hunting-related market sectors.
This role acts as a bridge between R&D, engineering, and business teams to ensure the successful development and deployment of cutting-edge opto-electronic systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Analysis & Optimization:
- Analyze the performance of optical sights, thermal imaging devices, laser based devices, night vision, and digital targeting systems in real-world conditions.
- Work with the product management team and stakeholders to optimize opto-electronic systems for weapon systems integration.
- Conduct testing and analysis of the opto-electronic digital products of the company and the competitors.
- Develop dashboards and reports to track performance metrics, system efficiency, and user feedback.
Technical Requirement Gathering & Documentation:
- Collaborate with the Marketing, Product management and Sales teams to define technical requirements for defense and hunting applications.
- Translate R&D findings into actionable insights for product development, manufacturing, and tactical use.
- Ensure compliance with military and commercial industry standards.
- Document firearm integration specifications, system architectures, and performance benchmarks.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Act as a liaison between engineering, product management, and sales, ensuring alignment with defense contractors, hunting industry partners, and military/law enforcement stakeholders.
- Support the transition of new technologies from R&D to field deployment in both military and civilian applications.
- Participate in cross-functional design reviews, field testing, and product roadmap discussions.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Use auxiliary, supporting software tools to process and interpret system performance data.
- Work with engineering and product management teams to validate theoretical predictions against real-world test results.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Firearms & Weapon Systems Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of firearms, ballistics, optics, and electronic targeting systems.
- Familiarity with military and civilian weapon platforms, including rifles, carbines, and precision shooting systems.
- Knowledge of hunting, tactical shooting, and military/law enforcement operational environments.
Technical Proficiency:
- Experience with opto-electronic devices such as scopes, night vision, thermal imaging, and laser systems will be considered as a big advantage.
- Familiarity with ballistic software, rangefinders, and fire control systems.
- Understanding of embedded systems, sensor integration, and real-time data processing is considered an advantage.
Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:
- Ability to analyze sensor data, detect performance deviations, and recommend system optimizations.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Physics or related field.
- Experience in defense, firearms industry, or high-tech R&D environments preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with defense contractors, military programs, or government agencies.
- Knowledge of MIL-STD requirements, ITAR compliance, and military procurement processes.
- Hands-on experience with firearms, hunting optics, or tactical accessories.
- Background in optical technologies, sniper systems, or electro-optical targeting solutions.
